Here we are! A merry band of underdogs trying to rock the world of student homes.

Nick Webb
Managing Director
Since he was a scruffy teenager Nick has been running start-ups. His previous start-up was an organic breakfast business. No longer making breakfasts at 5am, Nick is now running SweetSpot.
At SweetSpot, Nick is focused on revamping the student property industry to get rid of the poor quality homes and poor quality service that has become the standard. He wants all tenants to have attractive, homely properties with human, friendly, and responsive service.
If you’re popping in to the office, Nick will have a cappuccino and a financier.

Andy Webb
Chairman
After over 25 years in banking, culminating in running Lloyds TSB Offshore, Andy decided to start up his own business in 2000 concentrating on the high net worth market. He is now CEO of the Marussia Virgin Racing Formula One team.

Kevin Shopland
Kevin has had 25 years experience building and refurbishing residential properties to a very high standard, from large projects to one-off houses and apartments. He has two teenage children both of which he wants to go to university.
Kevin is looking forward to insuring that SweetSpot deliver the product it promises, with an emphasis on quality, beyond anything seen before in the student market. Students should expect a home, not just somewhere temporary to live whilst they study. He makes it his personal responsibility to insure all SweetSpot Homes meet this standard.
If you’re popping into the office Kevin will have a nice cup of tea with as many biscuits as he can get away with.

Fiona Dawes
Having previously worked in the financial services industry for 18 years, Fiona brings to SweetSpot experience in both operations and process management. Recalling her own days in student accommodation when choice was often limited and “after sales”care was non-existent, she aims to improve the experience for students from the moment they find their ideal home to when they move in and have a helpful landlord to resolve any issues.
If you’re popping into the office, Fiona will have a large mug of very strong tea.

Glenn Engelsman
Since moving to England in 2004 from South Africa, Glenn has worked in London within a variety of property roles. His experience in dealing with both tenant and landlord frustrations throughout the letting process has led him to SweetSpot. Glenn will be focusing on improving the tenancy experience and finding solutions for students in any situation. Glenn will aim to deliver a high level of customer service by taking the head-ache out of renting a home away from home.
Glenn will have a Green Tea or a Chocolate Yazhoo as a treat.

Gwen McCrorie
Nottingham SuperMum
With several years experience in accounts followed by a career in specialist recruitment, Gwen now applies her attention to detail and customer care skills to helping SweetSpot tenants get what they need when they need it and to ensuring your letting experience with Sweetspot is as pain free as possible and like our accommodation, is to the highest standard. No red tape just real people.

Claire Bliss
Exeter SuperMum
For years Claire was landlord of a 7 bedroomed student property. She took pride in providing a happy furnished home and guiding students through the letting process. She says it is a huge jump to go from living in halls or home, to looking after accommodation on your own. Claire delights in working for a company with the same high values. Claire’s job is to help you enjoy your time in a SweetSpot home.
Claire has been self-employed for the last 21 years in the property sector, sales and customer care.
She is always ready for chocolate in any form.
